and not to get political but when a black woman loses someone like that and turn to religion more than ever (as black ppl are often told to do instead of incorporating healthy practices alongside or even instead of-) she is heavily ridiculed and yet…. others are given their own sympathy edits (not a dig at dove at ALL) while they jump down china’s throat bc she is in active grief. it’s actually jarring.

happy mother’s day! and my condolences to those who have lost one. thank you to the mother figures that stepped up, to the eldest daughter branded as mothers, to those who are going to become mothers, the teachers who are mothers to kids who don’t have anyone!
