Hello, lovelies! It's been a while. I'm nearly finished with a brand new story, which I'll be posting soon! Good news is that I'll be posting once it's already completed, so no crazy haituses (coughbulletcough) and you won't be left hanging! The new story is called Red Rum Reunion, in which a couple of high school sweethearts attend their 10 year reunion, only to become trapped in a twisted game of hide and seek. Inspired by campy 90s horror, I've enjoyed injecting snarky humor into this modern fast paced thriller! Can't wait to finish up these last 3 chapters and share the terrifying fun with all of you! lucylaird
@lucylaird Oh, just more sweet teen romance haha! I’m rewriting an old story because it’s in desperate need of editing. I’m also writing a new one that’s slowly coming along (: And I definitely can’t wait for more of your stories!
Thank you, sweetness! It means a lot to my flaky little heart to hear that. ❤️ What’s new in your collection? I need to catch up with everyone’s works. :)
@lucylaird Good to see you're doing well and writing! I can't wait to read your new story. Burlap and Bullet were fantastic, so I know this new one will be too!

Hi Lucy, did you ever publish Burlap?
@Jonebug24 Well thank you for messaging me! The manuscript has been with someone I trust for editing, but they've been just as busy and strapped for time as I have. But I'm not in a rush, lol.
@Jonebug24 I haven't. I haven't done much by way of writing or publishing in quite some time. I'm hoping to revisit it in the future though. I just don't have the time or energy at the end of the day currently.

Hey it's been awhile since I heard anything about burlap being published or the sequel. Has it been published?
When I can sit down and focus and not be distracted by 100 other endeavors, I’m sure I’ll accomplish it. As it is, I go full throttle headlong into each stage, then take a year or more until I get to the next one. There are just so many fantastic things to learn and do in this world and I tend to get lost in all my activities.
Burlap has been sent off for a final round of editing that IS NOT DONE BY ME, PRAISE THE LORT. I'm officially done and in the final stage of preparing the text for publication! In the meantime, I'm working with a photographer and graphic designer for the cover art. Is it normal to end up absolutely despising a story when you get to this point? Maybe I'm jaded and have just looked over it and edited it to death so many times that I'm burnt out, but if I never had to read my own book again, I'd be a happy camper, lol!
@lucylaird I know you've stopped workung on Bullet due to that music video you saw but I hope that in the future you will somehow continue the story. I was SO enthralled with it, as I am sure many others were. Burlap was one of the first books i read here on wattpad and it is STILL my favorite book. I'll definetly buy it when it is published and i hope one day to add the prequel and sequel to that collection. Ive read many grwat books in my life but these books hold a special place in my heart
Burlap is getting PUBLISHED, guys! More info to come!
@DavidJThirteen I'm having to edit a few more things for it, and I hope to be done with within a week or so. I have other related and exciting news also, but I'm going to wait to announce it until I can showcase Burlap's published form. :)
Getting to know your characters. It's more of a discovery than a creation. Getting ready to delve deep into some characters today, and excited for what depth it may add to the story I've been working on. :)
Let's start a discussion! Where do you go to find inspiration for stories? What inspires you every time? When you either want to write something new, or you have writer's block and need a fresh idea, what do you seek out, knowing it will bloom something wonderful in your imagination? For me, it's always been rock music, urban exploration, and ghost stories. What about you? :)
Hi there Lucy, I just finished Burlap. AND OMFG I LOVED IT SO MUCH ITS OFFICIALLY ONE OF MY FAVOURITES. I need a hardcover copy on my shelf. You are an amazing writer, I hope you continue- your books are fabulous. Oh and you said you were writing a sequal, is that still going to happen? -A crazy fan obsessed with your book.
Thank you so much! It means a lot to hear someone loved Burlap as much as I do. I did have a sequel up, named Bullet. It was George and Lottie's story. I've become disenchanted completely with it after seeing a music video that had the exact same plot, so it will either be scrapped completely or reworked into something totally different. I also have plans for a prequel, named Banshee, which tells the story of Kate and Robbie's parents. IT uncovers some more mysteries subtly placed writhing Rosenton. :) For now, I'm working on Number 158. It's a whole other ballpark from Burlap, but the change is refreshing before I jump back into Burlap's universe. I plan to work on Banshee first and let my frustration with Bullet settle before attempting it again lol!
Burlap is 3 chapters short of being completely edited and ready for submission. It only took my slow poke rear 4 years.
