I’m on a slight rant about how Ron Weasley was portrayed in the movies versus the books. Like in the movies he was made out to be such a jerk. Anyone who’s seen the movies will think that Hermione is a complete angel and Ron is an idiot. Whereas Ron is extremely clever, I mean he defeated MCGONAGALL’S chess set. He’s only shown to be smart in the first few movies. In the others he’s seen as an idiot with no emotions and jealousy issues. While I love Hermione in both the books and the movies, in the books she has much more attitude and is extremely stubborn. She has her moments where she can be overly rude and in the movies she steals Ron’s lines. Ron in the book is so much better because he’s actually appreciated. He’s such an underrated and overly hated character because most people don’t go through the full effort of both reading the books and watching the movies. People hate on him but they haven’t seen him in the way J.K Rowling originally wrote him out to be. And I honestly don’t get all the hate on Romione. I mean, yes, I do like Harmione and there is the fact that J.K Rowling originally wanted Harry and Hermione to be endgame, but even Emma Watson agrees that Hermione needs someone like Ron. He’s funny and helps her to relax. They’re complete opposites, but that’s why they work out so well. He’s seen as dumb by most people when really he is such a good character. It’s actually sad that people hate on him when they actually don’t know his character fully. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
