"Hate" is a strong word.
One should think thrice before declaring that they "hate" something. Disliking is a different thing. But hating can't be justified with just "preference"... At least that's what I believe.
Using such negative words have always made me feel bad later on. If you dislike something, it's totally fine. But openly targeting something you don't like is not okay, I think. Others might have a strong connection to the thing you "hate." Think about what they will feel.
As a mere human, it's one of the most basic thing to do: Respect others' opinion and choices. If you feel like something is wrong about their choices, you should focus on WHY they actually like it. Maybe they have a different perspective than you. No one's perfect. You can't practically think of yourself as the most knowledgeable person, right? You should rather confront THEM with open mind.
We should always be respectful and humble. Learn to love. Love is a strong word too, but then, do you realize what it does to your heart? It heals.
These days, I'm learning to love the people who were bad to me, who made me feel terrible. And by loving, I do not mean that I'll literally go in front of them and say, "Yo, you hurt me in past but I love you now"
Haha. By loving, I'm acknowledging their positive side. Yes, they were bad to me. But they must have a good side too. Maybe they were suffering themselves. Of course, I will not risk my mental health by being in front of them, but I shall not hold any grudge.
And this is one of the most difficult things to do. But we all can try, right?
In fact, not just people, I'm even trying out new vegetables that I used to "hate" :p But sadly, I still dislike them haha. But now I won't disregard that they are healthy and delicious to many.
Oh and, happy Jannmashthami! I don't know how people celebrate it, but then, happy birthday to Kanha ❤️ (Uhm, I am hindu, but Jannmashthami isn't one of the most festivals at my place, hence I'm not aware :'))
