          Everything about that message screams phishing attempt:
          
          1. Wattpad does NOT require identity verification.
          They don’t:
          
          ask for ID
          
          ask for KYC
          
          ask for age verification
          
          threaten legal action
          
          suspend accounts for not verifying
          
          This is NOT how Wattpad operates.
          
          2. The link is FAKE and dangerous.

          Real Wattpad links ALWAYS start with:
          
          https://www.wattpad.com/
          
          https://support.wattpad.com/
          
          Anything else = scam.
          
          3. “GDPR / KYC compliance” is a classic scam script.
          Scammers use legal‑sounding language to scare people into clicking.
          
          4. “Joined an hour ago” = brand new scam account.
          They make a fresh account, spam people, and hope someone panics.
          
          5. Wattpad NEVER sends legal threats through DMs.
          If Wattpad needed something, they would:
          
          email you from an official address
          
          show a banner on your dashboard
          
          NOT DM you from a random new account
          
          ⭐ WHAT YOU SHOULD DO RIGHT NOW
          1. Block the account.
          Immediately.
          
          2. Report the message.
          Choose:
          Report → Spam / Phishing
          
          3. DO NOT click the link.
          Not even out of curiosity.
          
          4. DO NOT give any personal info.
          No name, no email, no password, nothing.
          
          5. If you clicked anything, change your password.
          Just to be safe.

          This is just a scammer trying to scare you.
