sometimes I feel like I should just start fresh with new stories but like...some of my old characters have been around almost ten years and like??? I feel like I owe them??

@lysandraofoldstones i know how you feel! ten years is a rly long time, i mean there are characters i‘m attached too that are only three years old and that‘s already making me feel like i have to write them, so basically my advice is gonna feel hypocritical, but i think if starting fresh with new stories is going to motivate / inspire you more, then maybe you should keep your ocs on hold for longer (or maybe even discontinue the fics)

Alsooo i tend to look for fanfics in the same fandom as whatever im writing i dont know i feel like seeing other people write and create their own stories also makes me want to create

But also what dre said !!! I just write random scenes or dialogue that i save and see if i can use later, i also really like making pinterest boards or reading a book that might inspire me
