Michael K. Lyman is a veteran of the armed forces with a degree in graphic design, and founder of Magnum Arts, an arts-related business that provides instruction in drawing, Photoshop, and photography. 

In Florida, he has taught cartooning and drawing since 2007 at various locations in the Tampa Bay area and provides art therapy to at-risk teens at juvenile detention facilities and domestic violence shelters. Additionally, he created art-therapy classes for veterans at the innovative Veterans Art Center of Tampa Bay, and participates in comic conventions and festivals, providing Free 5-Minute Drawing Lessons.

He's also involved with charity and goodwill activities; he is a long-time member of the 501st Legion, a global Star Wars costuming organization.
