I wanted to make this post to give my readers a deeper look into my first published series—which is titled "Coming Out".
In this series of short stories, I will be following several different characters that identify as a variety of different sexualities on the spectrum. Since I believe gender goes hand in hand with the subject, I will venture into the genre of gender expression and gender identity.
As for the first character I introduced, her name is Maeve (she/her). While I tried to take parts of my personal coming out story as well as my personality and overall being and incorporate them into her, she is not a direct reflection of me and my story. She is a lawyer who found her voice in the courtroom but struggles to find where she truly belonged in society. While she grew up in an upper-class, conservative family, she longs to break away from their grasp to live a much different life.
Coming out is hard no matter who you are, so I wanted to create characters that readers can look to for comfort and give those who will never experience that struggle, a deeper understanding of what it is like inside the minds of those that do.
In the end, I hope you like my stories and everyone can take something away from them. I am a student with a full-time job, so I will be working on my next story in my free time. Not to spoil anything, but he will be a man who identifies as gay more than likely.
