[ @nellcrains ] overuse of em dashes (emphasis on overuse!!! Because I love a good em dash but when they’re every other paragraph it’s kinda insane), sets of three, similes that don’t make sense (like one that I saw said “calm as ice water” like what does that mean???), repetitive language, lots of ghost comparisons for some reason??? and generally just sounds not-human! And some stories use this stuff of course but when you notice it a lot then that’s when it’s most likely ai and not human
