does anyone have any name suggestions for my squid game oc? her original name was min-ji but i’m looking to change it because i’m not quite sure if it fits her. i’m kinda looking for a softer vibe but haven’t been able to find anything so far PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

“writers never feel sad for their characters” WRONG!!!!! currently writing an au because the canon ending for my squid game fic makes me sad :cry:
i feel so bad about this ending it’s not even that bad but when you consider what the character has been through… i feel like i should change the ending BUT IT MAKES MORE SENSE THIS WAY

[ @i4livies ] oh yes i agree completely then!! i think they should have changed that one up a bit so it wasn’t as like. cliche maybe? bc that’s how i saw it when i first watched it. it was wayyyy too obvious that she was going to die and that’s not necessarily a bad thing it’s just kind of ridiculous in this situation
i was referring to hyun-ju's death, I kinda found stupid the way she died since they were in a game risking getting stabbed and she stood outside the door when she was stabbed by myung-gi, idk if that makes sense
I had no idea about that, now that I think about it given what you're saying makes more sense but I'm still kind of sad of how he went down and especially him being isolated from his group after the events of the revolution :(
[ @i4livies ] not sure which character you’re talking about in hide and seek bc i think that they were all okay deaths as for dae-ho lying about the marines, he didn’t lie exactly, the english subtitled messed it up. in korea all men have to serve in the military in some way or another, but dae-ho was too mentally ill to do so and so he was a social service personnel!! at first i thought him lying was a horrible choice too but now that i know that was messed up i think it wasn’t that bad!!
writing fics while the canon material is like a season or two with six episodes total is SO HARD because i’m completely used to writing (semi) slow burns and it feels like i’m rushing the relationship everytime :’)
@mantiswitch exactly. i used to always rush the romance. i totally agree with you and hope you can manage to succeed in that.
for my in-ho fic would yall be interested in seeing in-ho’s pov mixed in with min-ji’s during season three or would that be boring? i’m okay with doing either so i want to know what yall would rather see (just min-ji or min-ji mixed with in-ho)
@mantiswitch i’d say a mix of both, especially since In-ho is a pretty complex and tortuous character, his point of view could really add something interesting
just found out minji/min-ji (aka the name of my squid game oc) is an incredibly popular name in the squid game community and now i want to change it but it fits her so well #tragic
