Hi! I have a question. So I submitted my ONC story for round 3, but it said: You have successfully submitted your story in round 2. If you see this message we have received it. And on top of the form it said Round 3 submissions. I just wanted to make sure, I submitted it to the round 3 submissions right? Sorry if this is a silly question, I just want to make sure I submitted it correctly. Thank you for your help and time!☺️

@matthewchimneysweeps ok thank you so much I really appreciate it. Have a nice day!☺️

Hi, I just submitted my story for round 3, but I didn’t see a spot where it wanted to know where the 20k mark was. We didn’t have to include that this time, correct? I did mention that the total word count for my story is 26,402 words. Should I have included where the 20k word mark was?

Ok perfect thank you so much I appreciate it! Have a nice day :)

@scifi_lover4 You didnt have to include it. We can see the word count on our side, so if your story is between 20k and 40k, you are all good.

Hi! I’m just wondering, so after we’ve reached a certain milestone like the 2k mark for round 1, are we supposed to wait until round 2 to post more, or can we begin uploading new chapters? I really appreciate any help thank you so much!☺️

scifi_lover4

Ok thank you so much! That helps a lot. I just have to edit my next couple of chapters for round 2 then I’ll be posting it soon. I really appreciate it! :)

@scifi_lover4 ONC 2026 Round Two has already started. It started on March 1st. So you can post more. You could have also posted more during Round One. We are just looking at each milestone for each round. Someone could have published their entire novella during round one if they wanted too. btw, the Round Two submission form open March 10th. I hope all this helps :)

Hello, I submitted my story for the ONC 2026 and I think I might need to change some details according to the answer to my questions I receive.

Are we to post totally separate books for each round or are we to just post more chapters inside the book we submitted.

@matthewchimneysweeps thank you very much. Yes, that clears things up for me.

@VirgoScribe For each round you must add to the word count that you've already written, reaching each specific milestone. The goal of the ONC is to write a novella between 20k and 40k words. So it is the same story in the same book. Hope that clears things up :)

Hi! I was scrolling through ONC comments and noticed your Ambassador badge doesn't show up in comments (not sure if you knew). Mine and a few others didn't either, but you can get Jen or Gav to reset your badge and it should show up. Hope this helps!

matthewchimneysweeps

@Mochi711 I have been meaning to get that fixed. I think a bit of laziness is to blame for that. And it would probably be more appropriate to have it show up if I'm answering comments. Thank you and thanks for the push.
