I just published my first short story, which was a dream of mine. It perplexed my thoughts and had me thinking, what defines someone who is good or evil?

I haven’t updated The Phoenix Heart in what seems like FOREVER, but I just haven’t had the drive to write. Uploading once a week, for weeks on end, made it feel too much like a job- which took the fun out of it.
Should I continue it to the end? Should I stop where I am and rewrite it, now that I’m more experienced?
The characters that were created, the personalities that were forged, the world that emerged- it just seems like all of it is real. Too real to just end.
I will update on my decision in the next couple of days, then we’ll see about next steps. ❤️

I am hoping to continue working on the current chapter this week, finally getting it to feel how I want it to. This is an extremely vital chapter full of raw emotion, so I wanted to tell it well.
One more exciting announcement: I will be taking a break from school, beginning in December, so I can simply work and then spend my free time writing this book. So, stay tuned. :)

A quick update on the awards!
So, I’ve entered in about 10-15 different award contests (starting in/around March through this past month) and they’ve all basically went MIA.
I’ve nearly decided to give up on the idea, because many of them can be rude and others are just so disorganized that it’s draining to keep in touch with them.
If, somehow, I do hear back from any of the contests than you all will be the first to know.

Update 01/11/21:
Only 1 of these awards were actually completed, so thankful to them for eventually following through with the contest.
School started back this week and it’s been absolutely crazy being back on campus.
Now, for some talk about my current book, The Phoenix Heart.
The next chapter is still in the works, but I’ve been taking extra time getting the next chapter written for many reasons:
• This chapter is very beautiful and I want it to be beyond perfect when it’s published.
• This chapter is very extensive, currently at 2500 words, and it’s only about 3/4 finished. (Most of my chapters average about 1900-2100 words each).
• I want to make sure I don’t get writers block again and I want to give my personal editor and I some time to sort through our classes.
The Phoenix Heart is not even close to being complete and I will continue to work on this for the time being. ✨

Update 07/25/20
The next chapter of The Phoenix Heart will be postponed till next Saturday.
My editor is sick, I’m sick, and my father may have the coronavirus. I’m hoping that he just has a really bad flu, but my family is monitoring him to make sure.
I’m very sorry about this, but it’s just impossible to work out as of right now.
For the next chapter, I promise it’ll be a really good one. ❤️
