Hi! I just read your story and it's great! Very well written, interesting plot. One of the better fanfictions I've seen! There are a few improvements that I would make:

I would change "Yeah, I'm stubborn like that." It sounds a little juvenile. I don't think I would ever read that in a real book. I would change it to something like "My stubbornness has kept me alive more times than I can count" and then give a couple sentences of past examples or digging deeper into other attributes of her character that's she's using at this moment. Or maybe just remove it altogether and allow the stubbornness in her character to reveal itself throughout the story.

Remove "Anyways" from the next sentence for the same reason.

Fix the typo "wwho" and capitalize "I"s and "I'm"s.

Change "Their armor glinted in the heat". Heat doesn't make things glint. I wouldn't just use the word "sun" since you used it not that long before. It would sound a little repetitive. I would say "Their armor glinted beneath the piercing glare of the sun's rays" or something similar.

Remove "But like I said, I'm stubborn". It's redundant and a little juvenile again.

Decide whether you want the story to be in present or past tense. Right now, it's switching back and forth. I personally recommend doing past tense. I think it makes it easier to write and it sounds better.

I would maybe add more detail to the characters as they speak and move, maybe facial expression, tone, or looks just to add more visuals and immersion. Like when he lunges at her, how? With a sword? A knife? Just his hands? Is his face twisted in anger or his teeth gritted? Try thinking about it in slow motion and describe how it all went down with a lot of details so the reader can visualize it.

"I was dying", but then it doesn't describe why she's dying? Was it dehydration, exhaustion, was she injured by one of the guards? It's not clear.

I need to stop this message here due to character limits, but I'll start more.

I have never read that book, but I love historical and dark fantasy romances, so if it’s either one of those, I might check it out

@emilieautumnays Also, i don't know if you read powerless by Lauren Roberts, but the character Kai says that won't do everytime paedyn refuses to do something, so i kinda got inspired by that
