I'm an award-winning writer, editor, publishing consultant, and writing coach with a publishing career spanning 20 years.
My poetry and short fiction have appeared in literary journals such as The Backporch Review, The Harbinger, Idiom, and Venture. My poetry has also appeared in the anthologies The Golden Treasury of Great Poems and Dance on the Horizon, and I am a two-time winner of the Golden Poet Award from World of Poetry Press. I've published two fantasy novellas and a full-length fantasy novel, and have a forthcoming new fantasy novel.
Through two-year apprenticeships with the Ventura Fiction Writers Group, the LA Writer's Lab, and the Tribe Writers, I have a strong foundation in the elements of fiction, creative non-fiction, blogging, and screenwriting.
My blog, MDellert-Dot-Com: An Adventure in Indie Publishing, is a resource for creative writers of all kinds.
I offer tips, tricks, and advice to aspiring writers seeking to improve their craft. I also provide insights into the current state of the publishing industry.
Whether as a workshop leader, a personal writing coach, or a speaker at literary engagements, I teach, support, and promote creative writing to aspiring authors with kindness, compassion, and humor.
