          	it’s been a while.
          	
          	i know i’ve been mia these past few months, & i just wanted to check in because i opened wattpad today & saw that saltwater lies reached 500k reads.
          	
          	honestly… i still can’t wrap my head around it.
          	
          	this is my first ever story. i started writing it without expecting much, & i definitely never thought it would reach half a million reads. if you told the younger me this would happen, i probably wouldn’t have believed you.
          	
          	i also want to apologise for being away. i’ve been dealing with writer’s block for a while now, & it’s been harder than i expected. i miss writing so much, but i also don’t want to force myself to create something that doesn’t feel right. i want to come back when i know i can give you a story that i poured my whole heart into.
          	
          	to everyone who stayed, whether you’ve been here since chapter one or you only found this story recently, thank you. thank you for every read, every vote, every comment, & every message. thank you for loving my first story enough to help it reach this milestone, even while i’ve been gone.

          good news — i was able to restore chapter 16 of where the salt stings. everything is now back on track, & the story is currently published up to chapter 20.

          i just noticed that chapter 16 of where the salt stings is missing. i’m not sure what exactly happened, but it seems like it may have been accidentally deleted. because of this, i decided to unpublish and republish the story up to chapter 15 for now so new readers won’t get confused or feel like they skipped something.
          
          unfortunately, i didn’t have a backup saved elsewhere, which is definitely a lesson learned on my part. i’ll do my best to rewrite and bring it back as soon as i can.
