Melissa Speight is an author based in York, United Kingdom.

Melissa began writing from an early age and after studying a degree in Film Journalism at the University of Huddersfield, she decided to pursue a career in writing. Her love for literature began early in life and she has read hundreds of books spanning various genres. Romance fiction is where she found her heart lay and began writing her own novels. Melissa's idols include Nicholas Sparks, Cecelia Ahern, Colleen McCullough and Jane Austen. 
After the Rain is her debut novel and is currently self-published. Melissa is currently working on an exciting upcoming trilogy; the first in the series will be released later this year.

Melissa is also a professionally qualified jeweller and also works as a jeweller alongside writing.
Melissa is an avid supporter of animal welfare and supports various charities. She is an animal enthusiast and lives on the outskirts of York with her family and their menagerie of animals. Melissa is an avid keeper of reptiles, particularly lizards. Her other passions include  travelling, American culture, jewellery making, playing the guitar and live music.
