@VianneRocher24 Someone in the acting world who manages to break out of the mold must have not just talent, but intelligence to realize his/her career needs a shift in direction. So kudos to him for taking notice. Yes, Southpaw was really good. However, I personally found it a bit predictable. I've seen other films where boxing is at its core and many, if not all of them, have the same plot. Some people have even declared it cliché-ridden and I can see why they believe it. But that doesn't diminish how well it was done. And Jake was the best part of it, he solely carried the story and pushed it forward. I did get a bit teary eyed at the scenes with him and the girl playing his daughter though. :)

Couldn't have put it better myself. He really has matured into a great actor. I'm glad he managed not to get too stuck in the teenage heartthrob box, and break out into some really exciting roles. 
            Southpaw was incredible. I cried so much. I literally felt emotionally drained when I left the cinema. Haha.

@VianneRocher24 I've always found Jake an actor with solid talent and great potential when I first saw him in Donnie Darko some years ago. Jarhead just confirmed my thoughts. I saw Southpaw this past weekend and I'm delighted to see how far he has come to this point. He really is starting to become one of my favorite thespians. I remember Day After Tomorrow and do recall he was one of the leads. I never watched it back then though, guess I'll have to do some catch up on his filmography. And well, he turned out to be a really sexy man at present. I never paid much attention to his looks when he started, he was too pretty boyish for my taste. He should have that beard from now on, it really has enhanced his maturing features.

@ Yulia_Wolf  Wow! So you're literally on the other side of the world. That's famtastic. How close/far are you from the Bering Strait? If I were you I'd go and cross it. But that's just my adventurous side. n_n
          
          I believe if we had the chance of reliving our teenage years we would do all we left incomplete at the time. The consciousness we have achieved through adulthood would allow us to conduct ourselves more properly.

@Yulia_Wolf Nice! Russia? Which part of it? Being such a massive country I must ask it. :P I'm from Northeastern Mexico. This is what I love about the internet: being able to meet people from all around who share your interests. n_n
          
          I wish days had more hours for us to use for our benefit. God knows we need them, in this case for writing. It is in moments such as this one when I say: being an adult sucks. Mind you, I'm still young but I can't help miss my teenage years empty of responsibilities and plenty of time for myself.
          
          Anyway, thanks for the good luck. I hope I receive it soon enough. x
