@Redbank3k oh ok now I'm torn...I love them both...Lol...but Sand was much easier to become completely engrossed with right from
          	the beginning. Rain was much harder to get through the first few chapters. I think, for me anyhow, there are so many characters to try and keep straight right from the beginning. And then the foreign names for familiar objects, while it lends a feeling of credibility to the story, well it kind of proved to be overwhelming so I am enjoying sand immensely. And had began to enjoy rain very much. I am looking forward to finishing sand and continuing rain and then on with the rest of the series the story is very interesting in both books. And I love your style of writing and great imagination.
