would like to open a bridgerton debate if everyone can remain respectful.
i’m not saying my opinion is correct so go ahead and call me out if i’m wrong, but has francesca ever said that she wants a child because she WANTS to be a mother? it sounds to me like she has reduced her worth as a human as her ability to keep the kilmartin line, so of course she was upset that she couldn’t give john a child, HOWEVER, was she upset about it because she wanted a child herself??? i’m seeing a lot of debate regarding this, especially since this fundamentally changes the story for season 5, with her and michael who is now michaela. i’m not personally upset with this change mainly because i haven’t read the book and i haven’t been keeping up with bridgerton, but is the change they made THAT horrifying?????? from what i heard, they only show her with kids during the end of the book, and i know her infertility plays a big part of her story, but if it’s solely tied to her self-worth, then they could actually make the season work if they help her get over that insecurity.
but what’s your opinion?? what do you think??

@i4livies also i'm coming back to say that I DON'T HATE mlm content bc ik the way i worded it, it can very well come off like that. what i mean to say is that if mlm content is so highly praised why can't wlw get the same treatment? and some fans of mlm content make it seem like wlw will never be as good as it, and i feel like some of the haters of the upcoming season share this mindset

i never read the book either ( nor i plan to, bc from what i've seen about it...yikes ) but i did hear that francesca and michael only got kids in the epilogue bc the writer got harassed by fans or something to do so. i've also seen many book apologists spreading a lot of lies regarding the differences between francesca and michael compared to like francesca and michaela ig ( and getting exposed lmao ). and now yes like i said, never read the books, but i kinda want to laugh when they tell that francesca doesnt love john yada yada in the tv show but she shows much love for him in the series?? she might not have been properly in love with him ( depends which way they'll head in the series, on whether fran is bi or is a lesbian ) but its perfectly noticable she cared for him....and the thing about being upset about infertility representation as if queer women don't experience that themselves too? i, personally, as a woman who loves women, am much hyped and will make sure to stream the season a lot of times once it comes since the michael lovers will skip the season LMAO and also cant understand the massive support for mlm media and then wlw media gets shat on, i swear some people just hate seeing two women together...
