⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀❪⠀this was only a half—truth. he might claim it was to silence the man, shanks’ taunting voice wearing thin against his patience, but part of him had become accustomed to the noise. silence, for all its discipline, could be dull. mihawk also thought he might as well let the man have a small share. it wasn’t as though his harvest was something that was a close guarded secret of his, or something he was ashamed about. quite the opposite, in fact ⎯⎯ he took pride in his green thumb. watching something grow under his care, slow and deliberate, had become a rare sort of peace he wouldn’t admit to aloud.⠀❫

⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀❪⠀a brow arched in silent question, but he wouldn’t press ⎯⎯ he wouldn’t have to. if he weren’t a bit more accustomed to the other man's personality, he might have just laughed at the expression shanks was making ; like a child offered a gift he didn’t think he’d earned.⠀❫
