Dear readers and visitors,

I do not like the idea of talking about myself to a bunch of complete strangers, but if you are interested in finding out all about me check out my piece "this is me," found on booksie.com/mikimarie and/or ask questions. Another way to learn who I am is to read the stories I write. I write about what's important or interesting to me at the moment. I put my emotions and personal views in every piece, in my characters.

For me, writing helps me clear the ideas in my head, preventing a distracting tornado, but it also helps me sort through who I am, who I am not, and who I want to be. Sometimes I end up surprised at how much better I feel when I write stuff down. Not like a journal, but in a story, so I can distance myself and look at it in a new way.

Some say new is always better, but I disagree, I am much more of a traditionalist, so I tend to write about the old legends and folk tales that long since lost their meanings. I love to write about princesses and dragons and men to the rescue, partly because I am a woman and sometimes I need a prince or handsome knight in shining armoire to dream about and partly because I've seen waaaay to many Hallmark and Disney movies. I want to remind people to hope for great things, to believe in miracles and the unbelievable. I want to remind people why some stories and legends have survived the telling and retro long over thousands of years. Why we still read, and write and dream.

My Reading List is tragically empty, so please READING REQUESTS ARE WELCOME! So whatever it is you got let me know so I can check it out. I read anything but Horror.
