Hi, everyone!
          
          Chapter 32 is up after a small delay! I started a new job last week and spent my evening on Sunday catching up with homework, so my whole schedule has been slightly behind... keeping up with stuff has been a bit difficult. Lots of new changes. I didn't want to upload this chapter without a solid proofread (and thank god I did), so once that was out of the way, it was good to go!
          
          This is the first chapter to be uploaded separate from the story's earlier draft (meaning it has no pre-existing comments or votes and isn't replacing a chapter published from the previous draft of the story). If that doesn't make sense, it's fine--it doesn't really have to, it just means that this iteration of the story's draft is officially, as of this chapter, longer than the last.
          
          As for the progress for the story itself, I'm in a really rough spot! I have a lot of raw planning I have to do and some ends to tie up, which means reading through all 32 chapters again to see what I need to wrap up and gauge how many chapters I need to do that in. I have a general idea of where to go from here, but it may take a week or two before another update is ready again (and by then, I should have a couple lined up). The timing is good... but maybe also bad?... because I'll be on a cruise from the 22nd up until Halloween. So... I'll get done what I can.

          So, a story about "Sheep" to entertain you. Crucial footnote: I have ADHD, and my break days from medication are on Sundays.
          
          Chapter 29 has been finished for two weeks. When I posted chapter 28, it was already nearly complete already. 
          
          Then last Sunday came around, and I immersed myself in writing and homework (for reasons). So much so that I just... forgot to update, and come Monday when I realized my mistakes as I sat down to write more of chapter 31, I thought, "Well... Sunday's come and gone, and I'd rather be consistent than post on an off day, so I'll wait for next Sunday and just update then."
          
          Then yesterday came. And went. And I forgot. AGAIN, only realizing my mistake as I climbed into bed... at 1AM today, Monday, the 20th of September.
          
          I've never done anything like this! I'm not even sure how I managed to forget twice in a row! So I caved this morning and decided it needed to go up regardless, because two weeks skipped is just too much!
          
          ... And I've been trying endlessly in the last hour to post. Because Wattpad's spaghetti code and mystery meat servers strike and fold at the worst times, ESPECIALLY when I need to do something. I have no clue when it'll be fixed or when the update will publish/save/go through since nothing sticks no matter how many times I slam my left-click and pray.
          
          I'm folding my hands together and praying it goes through and that this isn't an infamous day-long blockade/outage that has blockaded "Sheep" a couple times before. If you've been waiting for a while, all 4k+ words of chapter 29 will be up as soon as Wattpad wants them to be.
          
          And while I'm here, thank you so much for your patience! Seriously, every hiatus and gap in uploads has been completely deliberate up to this point, and I'm just shocked that I did this twice in a row.

          "Sheep" is updated again today—let me know what you think! I've been terribly excited for what comes next in this final third, so hopefully you can look forward to it.
          
          Please forgive my sudden hiatus the last couple weeks; my final semester of undergrad started, and with it came much more work than I'd anticipated. Now that I'm on brief holiday, I've had time to go back and edit/rewrite. The timing of all this has been really unfortunate and unexpected, so I lined up and reworked my schedule to ensure the next couple chapters don't suffer this same timing issues. Thanks for your patience!

          Additional good news—I'm being published for the first time! A short story I wrote some time last year received an offer from the queries I sent out, so it'll finally see the light of day (and actual editors/publishers)! 
          
          This is a new experience for me publishing under my legal name, so I won't be able to share the story here, but it gives me a shiny, new title under my belt for when the time comes for me to query "Sheep" officially.

          I'm putting "Sheep" on hiatus for the next month or so; I have a ton of planning and work I need to finalize (both for the novel and for my school), and updating weekly at the rate I'm working at is plainly unrealistic. I was trying to avoid taking breaks or anything like that, but I don't really have a choice.
          
          (I may, however, throw in one update on a random Sunday during this time just to keep some sort of momentum, so you can always watch out for that.)
          
          Also, if you didn't notice with the Chapter 19 update, I won't be announcing updates on coversation feed anymore! It felt redundant since readers with bookmarks for "Sheep" already receive updates every time I post. So if you haven't bookmarked "Sheep" somehow and want to continue receiving updates, please bookmark it somewhere in your library so you can receive them!
          
          Thanks again to those of you who are voting as you read, leaving small comments, etc.! I try to respond where I can. Genuine critique/feedback is also more than welcome anywhere you feel like putting it.

          I apologize for the delay; I was out of town visiting family and unexpectedly found myself without any ability to update. I didn't want to postpone again for another week, so in sacrificing the consistency of Sunday updates, I went ahead and updated a day late anyway. 
          
          Obviously, I don't think anything similar will happen again, meaning I'll be back to normal updates this week. See you when I see you!

Hey, everyone! 
          
          For the sake of transparency, I'm postponing chapter 17 of Sheep for a few reasons: I'd spent two days this week car shopping and another bedridden after my COVID vaccine, I've had schoolwork to prioritize, and above all that... this half of Sheep is taking a lot more planning and research, especially as I'm beginning to deviate a lot more from the original draft.
          
          In addition, given this is the half of the book that is answering questions, it's taking much more time and care on my behalf to piece everything together and ensure I include everything I originally planned, and I would prefer to miss an update over missing important information and events because I'm rushing to edit and post.
          
          Regardless of what happens, I'll be seeing you again next Sunday!
