My favourite comic era was the DC early-90s cause comic sales were down across the industry and they needed a way to get those numbers up, so the decision was made to kneecap all their most popular heroes, force them to go through incredibly difficult trials physically, emotionally and mess with how they're perceived by their in-universe friends, loved ones and the general public. Either there was an evil or extreme counterpart that served as a dark mirror image and demonstrated what would happen if these heroes ever went far enough one way. Death of Superman, Knightfall, Emerald Twilight, also the art is just peak. Completely flipping the status quo on its head. I like to think I take that energy into my own writing.

@minesweeper0 No, cuz why they gave him basic black t shirt and made that into his suit like ☹️ Him and Impulse are just so funny together like they get even more stupider when it's just them like their braincells just cancels each other's out ☠️

@LordKiyoshi That's such a cool thing to get given, very jealous. 90s Superboy is soo funny to me. He was right in the middle during Reign of the Supermen, beefing with everyone, was in the trenches when Mongul destroys Coast City (directly leading to Hal slaughtering the Corps) helps beat Henshaw and saves Metropolis. And what does he do? He gives up being Superman and goes off to be a hero in Hawaii . I love the 90s but some of the plotlines...

          	  His punk look is his best though, no question.

@minesweeper0 I will always miss the 90s Young Justice era and like that some of their teammates retired because being a hero for the long run didn't really cut out for them especially Arrowette. Honestly, I wish this version of the Young Justice was the one that got adapted. It's probably just nostalgia bias considering it was my first ever completed comic book series that my late dad handed me down but this team are literally just dork teens learning to be superheroes. I will never forget the way they took away Kon's punk style like GIVE HIM BACK HIS SWAG, DC‼️

I just wanna put out some stuff I’ve noticed in FF, specifically about The Phantom. I think it’s pretty obvious he’s hardest on himself, there’s an argument for Shigaraki, but his criticisms come from jealousy. The Phantom Stranger’s need for a power structure, a society where the strong rule supreme comes because he has to keep moving, he has to keep pushing himself. I think there’s also a need for a father figure, his idolization of AFO, even if part of it because of AFO’s grooming, comes in part due to his own experience with Graviton. I saw a Zuko edit, very out there, using the line where he states that he believed he’d be happy if he had his fathers approval, and I think that deep down, Y/N feels the same way.

@goodnightfinn Interesting thoughts.

I was thinkin' what the DC version of the Z-Team would look like, character-wise. Not like exact one-for-one's, but more general vibes. Sonar is easy, Man-Bat, no brainer. But for the others, I was thinking: Malevola -> Etrigan, Flambae -> Firely, Golem -> Solomon Grundy (?). Maybe Ravager for Coupe but that doesn't really fit the bird theme. Owl Man would definitely fit better strictly design-wise. I'm pretty confident in those choices, but I'm unsure who I'd put for the others. I could definitely see a Starfire or a Donna Troy being Blonde Blazer. Not entirely sure who I'd have for the rest of the team though. I get big Wildcat vibes from Punch Up but I don't want to enable small king erasure in media. Having them be b or c-list characters with corresponding powers or designs is tricky.

@minesweeper0 there is no way DC has character's named fire and firely

Fire would also be an acceptable character for Flambae.

I noticed you changed the cover art for vagabond, any reason in particular? Just curious.

minesweeper0

@Lavallamalavaldome Yeah. I was talking with this other writer about making covers, and how I liked how they made their covers. They read my book and very kindly made me a few covers and I decided to use one for the time being. Nuff said.

Hmm. Don't know how I felt about the Dispatch ending (and I know it's based on my own choices but a lot of the endgame choices felt vague or arbitrary). But everything else was phenomenal. Great cast, great animations, well-written.

          I don't think it's as strong as the Walking Dead season one or the Wolf Amongst Us narratively, but a solid successor nonetheless. But I wanna know what you guys thought, cause my opinion is slightly coloured by my dissatisfied ending.

@minesweeper0 it's funny, I'm still a blazer fan but the last two episodes made me an invisigal fan, and tbh the only reason you don't like invisigal anymore is because you made the worst choices at every turn for "drama"

Also I renounce my allegiance to Invisigal nation. I'm not that guy anymore.

Holy Rogue...

@alek_ackerman Unfortunately she didn't fit into the Black Tarantula comic timeline since I'm doing the original X-Men team which is very sad, but maybe if I do a sequel in the universe of Black Tarantula she'll show up.
