Idk if other ppl who self harm use this method too, but if you are struggling to stay clean, try the butterfly method - you basically draw a draw a butterfly on the place(s) of self-harm and if the butterfly fades without you self harming, it means that the butterfly has basically lived and has flown away, giving you a sense of achievement. But, if you do self-harm while the butterfly is still visible; you have to wash it off. If that does happen, you can start again by drawing a new one. Some people write the names of their friends and family, so that when they feel the need to self injure, they are reminded that you are important and loved by your friends and family. Writing song lyrics or quotes can also be useful. I put butterfly’s on my wrist and hips, and I write song lyrics and ‘나비’ (butterfly) ankles, I find it helps. I also, keep a charm bracelet, where I put a butterfly charm every week I go without....you know. I just thought i should share that in case anyone was having trouble.
