**Book Review**
Book: Powerful by Lauren Roberts (Book 1.5 of the Powerless Trilogy)
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
Took me a long time to pick up this spin-off after finishing Powerless, well because I knew who the story was going to be about and what awaits me once I delve into it. One thing about Lauren Roberts as an author is that she knows how to foreshadow and how to make you feel pain, and yet make you continue reading till the end, till you’re bawling your eyes out in the middle of a very boring college lecture.
I liked Adena as a character in the first book, but getting to truly know her in Powerful was a such an amazing experience. She was a character that I instantly fell in live with, so Mak I get you. The GrumpyxSunshine romance in the book was a treat to read and with a male character who moulds both iron and words, it will give you all the feels right from the butterflies in your stomach to the flutters in your heart.
It was a short but well written book, wrapped up with a heartfelt romance, cute moments and heartbreak...lots of it. The only qualms I had was that the ending could’ve been a little more detailed to provide closure, but the rest of the book was great. I definitely look forward to seeing Mak as a character in Reckless and Fearless and get to know his story further. Overall, Powerful was an enthralling read that kept me hooked till the end, made me laugh, blush, squeal and cry and I think the hangover won’t be leaving me anytime soon❤️.
