Maia drove inside Kwik Fit with her scruffy Vauxhall. Well it wasn’t exactly hers; it was supposed to be a wedding present for her brother and sister in law. Maia was in her first year of college so she didn’t have much cash to spend on a very expensive car, thus she got a used one for £700 hoping that she would get a bargain. The minute she saw it she knew she was in big trouble, the man had indeed conned her and this was the result of her stupidity, waiting in a line to pay way more just to get it repaired.
As she looked around tensely she spotted her brother on the other side of the room, dressed in the Kwik Fit uniform, writing in a notebook.
“When did he start working here?!” Maia muttered to herself, she needed to make her brother stay away from her. She rolled down her window and motioned a worker over. “Hello?”
“Can I help you?” A young man with annoying smile asked.
“I need a stapler.” She gabbled. That sentence sounded better in her head.
“A stapler?” He asked with an eyebrow raised.
“You must have an office here. I would like to use the stapler in that office please.” She replied, glancing at her brother. The man followed her gaze and smirked.
“Have the hots for the new guy?” He asked her.
“Eeew! No, he’s my brother! Stop changing the subject – I need that stapler for some reason that I don’t know.” She whisper-shouted. She hoped talking to a worker would make her brother stay there. He rolled his eyes impatiently and went away. He came back to her within a few minutes holding…a hole punch. “Are you stupid?”
“Your stapler ma’am.” He answered with a grin.
“That’s a hole punch!” She replied, practically seething. Her nervousness mixed with this annoying man really made her very antsy.
“I’m pretty sure this is a stapler…” The line of cars had now moved up so she pressed the accelerator in act to get away from this irritating man.
“Maia, what are you doing here?” Her brother waved to her. Now the employee had really done it.
