I picked up the menu and flipped through the pages, reading it like a thousand-paged novel. We were sitting in a cafe called “Beanie Coffee” at the furthest end table and as usual people were staring.
Fire Boy quietly sipped his Coke as we waited patiently for Alluka (who’d excused herself to the women lavatory) and our food to arrive. He kept a calm expression while staring outside the glass pane, onto the streets, watching cars passing by and ignoring a large group of female fans behind his back.
My eyes wandered lazily to the clock behind him and it had been already thirty minutes since Alluka was gone. This definitely confirmed me she was up to something — I mean, which (un)earthly being takes this long just to use the toilet, dammit. If my guess was accurate, she was giving us time to talk and introduce ourselves which not only was a very mundane thing but overall I hated introductions.
He knows who I am anyway, so why bothered with introductions?
“Stupid me,” I thought sighing to myself. If only I hadn’t agreed to this maybe things would’ve been better.
But still, I know that this was inevitable. I mean, as a Zodiac, at some point I would have to bond with the other Zodiacs — I mean we’re a team. Which means I have to bond with Leo and since we’re in the human realm, we have to act like one of them, so as a human we have to follow the traditional introduction thing but — ah, dammit, what the hell was I rambling about? Forget it.
“Just do it and get it over with,” my self-conscious snapped and I rolled my eyes, preparing for my so call grand-introduction.
“Hey,” Fire Boy spoke and I swear I almost punched him for scaring the heck out of me — which by the way, ladies and gentlemen, is a natural reflex. I mean dear Zeus, I wasn’t expecting him to talk me at all out of nowhere.
