"Prologue
Summer was ending soon. The best summer I had in my life was ending tomorrow, and tonight was the last night left with Gabriel. After that, we were going back to the real world - the time we spent at the beach house would be no more.
I solemnly brushed through my unruly brown hair, and looked at my reflection in the mirror. I almost couldn't believe it was me. Normal me would never wear dresses, normal me would not dare to put an ounce of make up on my face. I was far from normal me now. I wore sundresses at the beach almost every day, and I starting putting on some eye liner and lip gloss. Why? No one could judge me at the beach.
"Honey, Gabriel's here!" Mom called for me from the kitchen. I gave myself one last thorough check. Good. Then, I headed out of my room.
Gabriel was looking effortly handsome in his jeans and simple T-shirt. "Hey Kyra, you ready?" He passed me a bouquet of multi-coloured Gerberas, my favourite flower.
"Thanks," I tip-toed and placed a small peck on his cheek (oh the perks of being a shorty), before running towards Mom to pass her the flowers so that she could put it in a vase. I swear, our rented beach house was overloaded with Gerberas because of Gabriel. After our second or third date, when he found out that I loved Gerberas, he would buy a bunch of them before coming to pick me up.
"Another one?" Mom laughed, and took the bouquet from me.
"Yep, another one." The both of us laughed. Dad rolled his eyes at us from where he was seated in front of the television.
"Go on now, don't want to delay you," Mom gave me a slight push, "Your prince charming's waiting."
