Once a beautiful nymph, Darya was beloved by the creatures of the sea. She was friendly even towards the sailors and the humans who happened to come by the shore, impressing people with her beauty and her control over the water
One day, she fell madly in love with a human boy. The boy came by to the beaches all the time to see Darya. However, unbeknownst to Darya herself, the boy was never hers. He belonged to the goddesses Aphrodite. Out of jealousy, Aphrodite cursed Darya to never be able to show her beauty to the humans above the water.
Now, Darya lives solely in the seas. Underneath the waves, she remains beautiful. But whenever she surfaces, she’s doomed to become a monster.
