Darrick’s eyes turned away from the doorway, it didn't feel like a movie, no happy ending to a book. She could tell as Darrick’s mind pulls in opposite directions as if his brain's narrator and navigator have entirely different ideas about the situation at hand
"Darrick~ " the strange man spoke softly, clutching at the doorway as if he had just run a mile, his voice deep similar to Darrick's baritone.
Darrick was always the valiant protector, yet when push comes to shove she couldn't help him in any way yet watch helplessly on her own, her size leaving her useless.
Darrick stepped away further into his home, scared almost by the presence of the man that stood before him.
