It has come to my attention that fanfiction is slowly becoming…disappointing. What I mean is that Wattpad has become a place where ‘authors’ publish their work but it’s not actually fanfiction. You know what I mean? Like you have to dig deeper on here to look for a good fic. As for tumblr and Ao3, I’m slowly starting to see more people use ChatGPT, and they are not even trying to hide it anymore, it’s painfully obvious. Any time I see line spaces or the word ‘hum’ I know ChatGPT wrote that work for them. I miss seeing characters with personalities . I miss the intricacies of describing a look or feel. Most importantly, I miss the effort people would put into their fanfictions. What I would give to read another good fanfic where it left me feeling giddy and excited.
