i’m writing about the marauders and the first war rn and i just have a genuine question about the order in the first war! what do you mean you had a spy and didn’t know who it was??? one drop of Veritaserum to every member and the problem is solved! or maybe you could share your valuable secret information with each others and use the un-breakable vow and nothing will be out??! this is like so obvious and easy but now i’ll have to make the plot without anyone thinking about this lol

@moonyshares Veritaserum is probably not an easy potion to brew—lacking an experiences potions master, it may be unavailable. There might also be legal/ethical guardrails against it. Or you could write your plot around it based on a scarcity of some ingredient—maybe it could only be found in a certain valley somewhere that was under the control of Voldemort, maybe it had to be imported from abroad and there were economic sanctions against that place. Loads you can do with this. As for the unbreakable vow, the Order may have had ethical qualms with it. You can work with that.
