i just found out about this model/influencer christina nadin who's been milking her "filipino" heritage with her expensive-ass products. imagine selling a collection of scrunchies and headbands for 11k PHP (204.29 USD). dawg, i bet you don’t even care about the philippines at all—just saying you're cultured and proud so you can sell your products, yet filipinos aren’t even the target audience. and excuse you, saying that she’ll donate to the locals??? for 1 dollar for every sale??? bitch, what are they gonna do with your 1 dollar??

like, if you really cared about giving back or celebrating your roots, you’d price things reasonably for actual filipino consumers. you’d work with local artisans. you’d be transparent about where that donation goes. you’d invest in real community-based initiatives. not just slap on the word “filipino” and expect applause while profiting off a culture you barely engage with. this ain’t pride—it’s performative. and people have every right to call that out.
