also, i'm a little late to this and i want to preface by saying i am not a citizen of the united states, but i think in the aftermath of the election, we need to be able to find a way to process and grieve without misdirecting anger and resentment toward those whom america has consistently, historically, violently failed. 'marginalization' encompasses more than what you consider your immediate, personal emergencies. genocide is not a 'single issue.' the scapegoating of the immigrants, migrants, and all those who rejected engagement with a political system that has long upheld white supremacist values, regardless of the party in power, has been terrifying to witness. our values are only as powerful as they are genuine, even when removed from self interest. this is and will be an incredibly difficult time, but collective reflection on what we mean when we say we want 'democracy' and steadfastness to caring for and protecting our community will be critical in charting a path forward to true liberation. all my love and support <3
