he Floss or Flossing is a dance move in which a person swings their arms, with clenched fists, from the back to the front of their bodies on each side and do these movements repeatedly.[1]
The move has been remarked for being difficult to perform and requiring coordination.[2]
Origin[edit]
The earliest known example of the dance was posted on 20 September 2013 by Lakewood High School in their submission for the lip sync competition to Katy Perry's "Roar".[3]
Popularity[edit]
The dance became viral after a Saturday Night Live live performance of Katy Perry's music "Swish Swish".[4]
The move has become a trend among youth and has been performed by celebrities, and many other people[5][6] in videos.
The move was also featured in the 2018 video game Fortnite, as a victory animation performed by the characters.
