It's been almost 10 years since I first created an account on wattpad – not this, naturally, this was meant to be my second chance.
          	And it turned out to be more than that. It gave me friends, motivation, healed me... It was with me through my highs and lows. 
          	But it's time I said goodbye. 
          	I'm not saying I won't read or won't interact at all. I will, but rarely. Nor am I saying goodbye to writing (as I am working on my first, fully original novel with an amazing editor behind my back). 
          	I'm saying that, this part of me, the fanfiction writer, the rule follower, the dreamer...is now something I want to leave firmly in my past. 
          	
          	This year has been cathartic, I finished every fanfiction I dreamed to...but I lost my taste for it during the process. 
          	I see all your feedback and still, I couldn't bring myself to do it again.
          	
          	Hence, with all the love and respect, I retreat. I'll focus on growing just wholly outside of this. 
          	
          	I love you all, and thank you...for being with me on this journey.

I don't think I ever realised how stressed I became about writing in the past few years — especially after I came back from my hiatus. I was and am, still, constantly overthinking if my writing is enough, if it's descriptive enough, poetic enough...
          I remember, the first time I had a beta-reader– she told me that I don't have enough descriptions, that's it's too dynamic. I listened. But fell to the other side of the horse in that matter. Unfortunately.
          Now, as I slowly begin my journey to write my Remus fanfic, that's the redemption I seek, finding the way in the middle, writing entirely for joy instead of wincing everytime about how plain my writing seems. 
          I need to un-learn, and re-learn... and as much as it sucks, I can't wait to do that, finally.

this is too real! becoming a writer is such a journey, a never ending one i think. everything you described hits close to home. i’ve also learned that it’s okay to have your style change over time, sometimes even with different works
            and i also think that every writer feels this, so we’re not alone <3 but it can be really stressful
