A small mouse was floating in the sea, enjoying the calming waves and salty breeze, while small boats and ships pass by. Then a few glimpse of dotted land fell on this mouse's view. Curious as ever (yet lazy as hell), this mouse want to explore that land. Knowing that arms and legs are too small to swim the gap, the mouse let the huge waves carry its little body to the shore.

Spluttering to the shift of water to sand, the mouse once set itself was in awe. Then spotting a man in scholarly robes roaming the shore, arms behind his back and in deep thought. Seeing a chance, this mouse hid behind his sleeve. 

On that day and for 9 years to come the mouse has explored the land for all its worth.

Until one day, the scholar chose to travel by the lake but his sleeve was suddenly cut off by his enraged lover. The little mouse hidden by that sleeve, stumbled to the strong current of water. Without saying farewell to the scholar was embraced by the water.

Drifting apart to the boat and crossed the other path in alarming speed, the little mouse managed to grasp a branch to ride a log. Then without saying, the little mouse with its alarmed squeak lurched to the current of a beautiful falls. Emerging from icy water, shivering while riding the log, the mouse suddenly heard the voice of a siren. It was actually the witch of the forest with its flowing robes and a stick waving in her hand.

Then the witch after ending her song spotted the little mouse and scooped its little body to place on her shoulder. On that day, for 400 days the mouse was the witch's constant companion. Yet, in the mouse's heart, it couldn't help but longed for its old friend. So the little mouse asked the witch to visit the scholar who had become a dear friend. The witch let the mouse be.

So the little mouse search and finally found the scholar in the same beach sitting on a rock in deep thought. With a small squeak, the scholar turn his head and warmly scoop the little mouse to his lap in happiness.
