A smile doesn't mean that the person smiling is happy. It could also mean that they are trying not to break down. Smiling is a defense mechanism that people have not to let people know their true selves.
Writing a book can be easy for some, but there will always be mistakes that will need to be corrected even if it isn't by the writer.
A story might start with a good beginning or even a bad ending. Either way, it's still a story. Sometimes what matters are the characters, and how you make them be. It all depends on how you want them, either strong or weak. In the end, it's the ending that matters.
