richie’s parents had set him up with the denbrough boy over myspace as penpals. he hated the idea but it wasn’t a big deal. “hey. tell me a little bit about yourself in your next letter. maybe send a polaroid or two. i’m richie. i’m fifteen, i have glasses and black curly hair. i like skirts and stereotypical feminine things because i hate social standards. i’m a huge comic nerd and in the envelope i put some of my comics and a few polaroids of me, and i’m from derry, maine! hurry up and send a letter back because it’s going to start getting colder soon and i don’t go get my post from the post office in cold weather!”

@mushmouthed ❀ • richie had began to get fairly excited to see the boy’s name on the mailer as he waited. he ended up not only reading the short stories a few times in one day, but he ended up reading them as he wrote back as well. “you’re so good at writing. like, really good. sorry if my horrible writing hurts you through the span of our letters. anyway, i was wanting to ask in the last letter to you, how things were with your family. just in general. like are you guys just moving in wherever or have you lived there a while?” his letters were in chicken scratch, but he figured it was fine because bill could read it the first time.
