There was no time. No time to take a small glance back and see the faces of my captors. All I had time for was running. Running somewhere far away from this awful place. Heavy footsteps that were not mine told me that my fellow in-humaine friends were right next to me. I barely had enough time to see what was ahead of me before my foot left the earth and I was falling, falling like a dropped stone. Without a second to spare, I unfolded my dark wings and lifted my body up, catching a small peek over my shoulder to see that the others had gotten their bearings and were either flying or being carried by someone who actually had flight capabilities. Now all that was left to do was to fly back to our own territory, safe and far from this one. That was all I had time to do.
