TO EVERYONE WHO MAY SEE THIS:
the characters ethnic bg in book 1 and book 2 is essential parts of they identities, shaping their lives, experiences, and perspectives. these details help bring depth and authenticity to who they are (and also cos i have the memory of a goldfish so i have to constantly keeping reminding myself of stuff i write/add), but they aren’t all they are.
i mean, this applies to all of my upcoming stories; even the ones im doing rn and publishing. their personalities, dreams, and relationships exist beyond their bg/races. including this elements ain’t abt limiting or defining them by their race—it’s about honoring the richness of their identities and adding authenticity to they storie, especially cos they all set in Japan (a very NOT diverse country)
even me, i'm born to 2 indigenous NA parents, whom which in the UK/US, would be considered 'black' african but they dont choose to identify that way, only on paper do they say such. me, personally, i call myself 'NA' and sometimes add 'black', but ofc w knowing that there's more to me than js 'black'; i'm human, and i have right to express myself/my characters in ways i wanna do so.
