Fresh read reco, literal na katatapos ko lang basahin. 
          
          It took me a lot of willpower to start reading Starjeizing's work coz I knew it would be a deadass slowburn, andddd I was trying to take a break sa slowburn romance, huhu. BUT, I am so glad I read In Between Seasons.
          
          Such a comforting read! It’s a slowburn, but the humor was ON TOP! Laking kalye ako pero di ganito kalala yung kanal humor ko hahaha. I don’t even know where Author got the humor kasi ang lala. As in, it will really make you laugh out loud.
          
          The plot itself wasn't mind-blowing, it was pretty basic, actually. But the characters made it so endearing — everything was just so wholesome. 
          
          Ysaac is my ultimate fantasy: gentle, provider, down-bad, pogi, mayaman, matalino, and funny, pati pamilya nya walang pintas. Wala, perfect lang sya, but he doesn't feel impossible kasi, all throughout the story, his actions are exactly what a deeply in love, emotionally intelligent, and capable person would do.
          
          And my Haru, hays. He is a representation that when a person is loved, they will not question what's lacking but will fulfill it in the ways they know how. His parents loved him so much that even though life was hard, he endured, sacrificed, and gave back. Deserve na deserve i-baby.
          
          Writing style — detailed, clear, and easy to read. It’s a slowburn that didn't skim on the kilig, with very relatable characters and a calm pace. I read it for almost a week, and it’s the type of book you don't want to end because everything feels so light. It was the perfect way to cleanse my palette and calm my nerves.

            If you like the feeling of familiarity and safety, this is perfect for you.

          INTRIGUING. DRAMATIC. POETIC.
          
          I've drafted so many posts about this book, but no words I know seem to do it justice, so I'll keep it simple. Here are a few reader (I would say) precautions:
          
          1. I had so much fun being a theorist while reading this. The clues are everywhere, so pay close attention!
          2. The plot twist literally had me screaming and crying. You can try to guess it, but I can almost guarantee you'll miss.
          3. You WILL need a box of tissues. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.
          4. Bring lots of patience for Miguel. He's layered and I mean it when I said LAYERED.
          
          I'm so, so, so happy to see this book getting the attention it deserves lately. I honestly can't imagine anyone saying no to a Liadeflores masterpiece, she's just that good.

Diba dito sa WP, meron tayong Best Boy, Best Girl, Best Second Lead, at kung ano-ano pa. Pero ako, meron akong BEST PROLOGUE.
          
          THERE'S NO BEST WAY TO START A STORY THAN WITH A CLIFFHANGER PROLOGUE — IT GIVES YOU EVERYTHING WHILE GIVING YOU NOTHING. GANERN!
          
          My best WP prologue is definitely the 6th installment of Beeyotch's Game Series — Defy the Game. And I think we need to talk about this more.
          
          Ilalaban ko to sa Battle of the Slowburns, romance edition. Slowburn, hindi dragging. Slowburn, pero enjoyable. 
          
          At the beginning, or before the main plot kicks in, it's really a light read. Tamang kwento lang ng buhay law school, how friendships bloom through law school struggles, and how someone has to fall in love with a friend and make things complicated. But once you reach the main plot, that's where everything changes. It becomes deeper and more meaningful. THE LAWYERING STARTS.
          
          Kilala na si Beeyotch bilang isa sa mga authors na may magagandang writing style, so hindi ko na ie-expound. Basta she's not into elaborated, highly descriptive narration. She's more focused on the internal thoughts and emotions of her characters. Hindi rin siya madamot sa dialogue.
          
          DATI, AKALA KO OVERHYPED LANG ANG GAME SERIES. JOKES ON ME!!!!! I STAND CORRECTED.

For better reading experience na rin, basahin nyo yung installment 4 before installment 6-10. Di naman sya required, pero kasi yung ML sa installment 4 ay important character sa installment 6 at 10.

I know it's kinda intimidating na ang daming installments, but no worries kasi you don't necessarily have to read from the first installment. Here's a quick guide para iwas spoilers:
            
            * Installments 1, 2, and 4 should be read consecutively in that order.
            * Installments 3 and 5 can be read as standalones.
            * Installments 6 to 10 need to be read in order.
            
            The first five installments aren't directly connected, pero may mga details na mababanggit na baka maka-spoil sa inyo, though nothing major. However, installments 6 to 10 are interconnected, so it's very important to read them in order para mas ma-gets ninyo ang emotions at impact ng story. Lalo na yung installment 6 at 10. RAWR TALAGA!!!!! BIGGEST SHOUTOUT TO MY TALI AND LUI!!!!

The female protagonist here is characterized as innocent, gentle, kind, and goal-oriented. Hindi siya complex or heavily layered as a person, but she has depth. Direct lang siya as a character, what you see is what you get. One thing I love about Beeyotch is that a lot of her characters may be innocent and kind, pero hindi sila nagkakapare-pareho. She was able to make Assia the innocent type who's not gullible but still gives you that protective instinct.
            
            Ang simple-simple ni Assia, pero ang dami kong pwedeng sabihin tungkol sa kanya.
            
            Vito, the ML. He just made me cry. Sobrang laki ng pagmamahal niya kay Assia that when she started setting the boundary, he backed down without a fight. Some may think that's a negative thing or that Vito is bland, but you'll get it once you read the story. VITO WILL PROVE Y'ALL WRONG. Assia has always been clear from the beginning that she'll return to the province anyway. Hindi si Vito ang nagpabago sa purpose nya.

Lagi kong sinasabi na I love reading dark romance, and inevitable na mabanggit yung terms na "obsess" at "possessive", but while reading His Iron Trap by Calieste, I started thinking na yang dalawang terms na yan ay mabigat in reality.
          
          I believe sometimes yung mga binabasa natin nagre-resonate sa mga personal issues natin eh (sige kung ayaw nyo, ako na lang!), kaya nakukwestyon ko yung sarili ko habang binabasa ko tong His Iron Trap kasi kilig na kilig ako sa mga scenes na dapat disturbing (paulit-ulit niya pang binabasa) kasi yung ML talaga rito yung obsessed (LIKE OBSESSED IN ALL ITS INTENSITY) — though aware naman ako na related na rin yon sa psychological condition niya.
          
          Reco ko na rin siya because ang ganda nung pag-portray ni Author sa obsession ni Gunther. It tackles Dissociative Identity Disorder, and alam mong Author did his/her assignment. Malinaw at simple yung explanation ng disorder niya, so kahit complicated talaga yung condition, madaling maintindihan while reading.
          
          I think Author already mapped out the plot kasi ang ganda nung flow. Intimidating siya basahin kasi mahaba (ongoing pa and medj matagal  updates pero worth it naman!), pero with this kind of plot, justifiable naman, and isa to sa fave Author ko kasi perfectability din siya sa mga hints ng mystery and writing style.
          
          Caution lang kasi intense to mga mare. INTENSE! DARK. DARK. DARK. Dapat self-aware tayo habang nagbabasa, at wag mangarap na maging reality si Gunther (eme!). 
          
          Ewan ko kung anong point ng pinagsasabi ko, BASTA BASAHIN NYO NA LANG!!!!!

Ang point ko pala is to read responsibly, and do not blindly romanticize obsession and possessiveness (mga redflag enjoyer dyan). Be aware na magkaiba ang "fiction enjoyment" at "real-life acceptance", para di tayo mapariwara.

Ov3rtin_ker already has over 200k followers, pero I still feel like she isn’t getting enough recognition for her work — or baka hindi lang talaga siya masyadong dumadaan sa FYP ko.
          
          Anw, the very first story I read from her was A Game of Kismet — an academic rivals trope.
          
          There are times na boring for me yung ganitong trope kasi ang daming academic-related exchanges between characters (or baka ako lang to kasi hindi ako pala-aral ༎ຶ⁠‿⁠༎ຶ), but this one was done so well (steak yarn?) that it was genuinely enjoyable.
          
          Both MCs are admirable in their own ways — Amy as a goal-oriented, palaban sa life, and loving daughter while Rad, for me, was the perfect mix of playful and serious with paninindigan ML.
          
          The plot build-up was clearly planned and executed well. The conflict was introduced with perfect momentum and the emotions were sustained and shifted so smoothly. You know how sometimes kilig na kilig ka pa tapos biglang may conflict na sobrang abrupt kaya nakakabitin? Dito, sakto yung timing. Author prepared you for it, so everything felt naturally blended.
          
          AND, let me tell you!!! They both yearned for each other and I love love love this!
          
          The narration is detailed, but just enough to make you invest in what’s happening without feeling dragging. The pacing was a bit slow, but intense enough that it never got boring. The story build was beautiful — she makes you attach to the little moments, then bam, hello conflict. Hindi rin in-overcomplicate yung issue: simple lang siya (pero iyak naman talaga ako hahahaha) then it was resolved without unnecessary drama.
          
          And one thing I really loved: mahaba yung happy ending. We actually got to savor it. Kasi usually, once the issue gets resolved, biglang the end na agad. LET US ENJOY NAMAN. IPANAMNAM NIYO NAMAN YUNG SAYA (⁠ ⁠≧⁠Д⁠≦⁠)

Ganda lahat ng story ni author pati writing style — parang since day 1 magaling na sya ganern. Walang room for improvement (oa hahaha), basta perfect sya for me. Special mention sa Beyond the Horizon nya kasi di ko in-expect na may pa twist sya!

I read it about a year ago, pero until now naaalala ko pa rin yung giggles ko sa banters ng MCs. They were funny, intense and so nakakakilig. You could really feel the tension building between them (spoiler: enemies in public pero nagkikiss behind closed doors <⁠(⁠￣⁠︶⁠￣⁠)⁠>).
