          At 26, my story preferences lean more toward mature themes, pero this one OG Watty author never fails to make me giggle over the most wholesome scenes. NO R18 SCENES AT ALL!
          
          For me lang naman, s’ya talaga yung pasimuno ng mga green flag na characters. 
          
          Here’s a fantasy romance trilogy from TheCatWhoDoesntMeow:
          Hello, Death, A Walk with Death, and After Death.
          
          Don’t be intimidated na trilogy siya—the first two installments are mostly written in an epistolary style, while the third installment is the main event.
          
          The first book, "Hello, Death", immediately intrigued me. I mean, what if Death himself saves you from dying?! Who wouldn't' want to know!
          Of course, that’s not everything, but it’s more than enough to make you want more!
          
          Anyway, the writing style is REALLY GOOD—easy to read and visualize, which is rare for fantasy. (I personally think fantasy stories are the hardest to write kasi dapat ma-visualize ng readers ang movements ng characters for it to make sense.)
          
          The characters are relatable, especially the FL.
          AND THE ENDING IS WHOLESOME!

My next recommendation is kinda heavy. 
          
          This was actually on top of my list, pero ang tagal bago ko sya naipost kasi ‘di ko mahanap yung tamang adjective na magiging enough to describe how good it was written kasi limited lang ang vocabulary ko hahaha. 
          
          I’m all praises for how good this one was written. Distinct. Mature. Emotionally rich. I BEG YOU, GIVE IT A TRY!
          
          Lemme introduce to you my 2025 most traumatic read (so far): Almost Lovers by liadeflores. 
          
          I’ve read a lot of “almost-impossible-to-find-in-real-life” characters so this one was a reminder that love, people, and relationships can be flawed but still genuine and worthy of a second chance. 
          
          You’ll know you truly understand them once you end the story without asking for more justification on how much Gideon loves Bee, and how they all deserve their own happy ending.
          
          My favorite part would probably be how Gideon’s POV was told using his journal, it was intimate, intense and beautiful. The ‘Annie’ conflict had my eyes bawling at 10 in the morning huhuhu.

Narealize ko na seryoso ako sa mga nire-recommend ko at ire-recommend pa. Like, I actually overthink kung anong next kong ipopost as if super relevant ng opinions ko hahahaha. But honestly, who cares? Someone out there might need it!

          If you’re into something fast-paced, well written, focused sa leads, at nag-uumapaw sa pagmamahal, this one’s for you! 
          
          CALUM IS A DREAM, PERIODTH. 
          
          As a single lover girl na kulang sa pagmamahal at nangangarap ng ulol sakin na jowa… kuhang-kuha ako ni Calum.

          That bitin sa details feeling makes every word feel precious. It’s like you’re eavesdropping on a love story as it unfolds and it's intimate and raw in the best way.

If sawa na kayo sa mga cutesy na romance, I beg you to try dark romance.
          
          I will NEVER stop talking about Illicit Sky by Calieste. 
          
          As someone fully devoted to this genre, I can confidently say the writing is a solid 10/10. I swear I will never shut up about this story because it’s genuinely worth every second of your time and every ounce of emotional investment.
          
          Warning though that if this is your first attempt into dark romance, brace yourself. This story doesn’t hold back, be ready for:
          
          •Morally grey characters that will test your loyalty (and morality)
          •Intense emotional depth
          •Violence and trauma woven into the plot
          •Psychological complexity
          •Power imbalances between the leads
          •Manipulation, tension, and a whole lot of heat(you know what I mean)

I’ve decided to start posting story recommendations—para naman may karamay ako sa pagka-OA ko, and as a little appreciation na rin sa mga authors, kasi ganito na lang ambag ko sa kanila as a poor, overworked gurlypop.
          
          First on the list: The Candy Series by TheCatWhoDoestMeow.
          This series is living proof that romance doesn’t need toxicity to be addictive.  It’s a light, warm, and calm read filled with soft boys, strong bonds, and love that feels safe.
          
          As a forever friends-to-lovers trope enjoyer, my favorite from the bunch is definitely Clueless which I read the first time back in 2017 and reread it for the nth time earlier this year,  and this one hits all the right spots—he fell first, he fell harder, and Warren kamote is just so soft.
