it’s nice to know that there’s someone out there that knows you exist. it kinda reminds me of something Jake says in the concept cinema of desire: unleash. “To remind you that I exist. To remind myself.” because at one point, hiding makes you a ghost. at one point, invisibility becomes shackles. you forgot who you were before this. your only purpose is to be perceived as nothing. so you make yourself nothing. in enhypen’s lore, seven vampires hide in a human world. but how much do they erase of themselves to remain hidden? how much does their normal cost? I think it would be so cool if they leaned into that question. because I wonder too. I wonder how much my safety costs, how much I lose when I keep my head low and eyes down. I forgot who I am. I still don’t know. I am forever lost to myself. I can build a new identity, but I’ll never be who I was.
