most of you know i have an eqg trainee!au in the works rn , but ik that it's a little confusing to those who don't keep up with the kpop industry a lot ! so let me break it down at the best of my abilities <3
in order for a person to become an idol , ( mostly known as a kpop artist ) they must go through a long process of training until they are ready to perform . usually , they will go to an audition of a certain company , get accepted , and get straight to training , thus becoming a " trainee " . some trainees go through a small period of training for around 6-11 months until debut , others spent most of their lives doing it ! it can last from 3 to almost 10 years . they work rlly hard for evaluations and weekly tests their company gives them until they see they are ready for debut .
if you are familiar with kpop survival programs , this will make so much more sense:) if not , it's basically the same thing . think of it .. like " the voice " .. but more hardcore lol . they broadcast it on national tv and show what trainees must go through to become an idol . some other channels also pick it up so international fans can see it . it'll make sense once the story start , and it won't take long for you to get the idea of it <3
if you are willing to get more familiar and get an idea of what the au will revolve around , i would suggest watching produce 101 , produce 48 , yg's treasure box , and i-land ! ( or at least watch a five minute clip lol )
— produce 101 s2 : debuted WANNA ONE
— produce 48 : debuted IZ*ONE
— yg's treasure box : debuted TREASURE
— i-land : debuted ENHYPEN
these already ended , but it gives you the idea .. yk ? ( i suck at explaining shit ) again , YOU DON'T NEED TO WATCH THESE , the story will still make sense . these are just recommendations in case you want to find out more abt it:)
please feel free to leave any questions through pm ! this au isn't gonna be out for a while , so i have a lot of time in my hands <3
