I’m writing a new book, it probably won’t be published fyi, but it is a contribution to a girl who I know that commit suicide due to horrible, vile reasons.
Anyways it’s based off the best friend and for all my stories I like to have their names have meaning and be based off the book but I can’t decide, so here are my options.
Btw the genre is like mystery, thriller, and some romance
For the boy ml here are the options:
(He’s a college student majoring in psychology to be a detective)
Aster - the flower aster means afterthought. His backstory could be that he experienced child abuse and neglect as a child so that’s why he wants to be a detective. I could put more thought into if if that was the final decision
Hemlock - flower means you will be the cause of my death. It was the poison that Socrates took to kill himself. Hemlock is an old Victorian name. The flower is dangerous and poisonous but found in gardens and on roadsides. It kinda fits the whole dark mood that I want to set.
For the girl main character
(She is a college student majoring in psychology to become a therapist.)
Iris- name is after the flower Iris which symbolizes hope, but after the incident she always thought it resembled the flower that came out of Hyacinthus’s blood, resembling how she is the subject of the cruel world.
Dahlia - flower means instability. To show how wrecked she became after the incident even though to a stranger she seems perfectly fine, it prevents her from completely being free from her trauma, she can’t be “okay” at any given time.
I literally can’t decide helpppp
