As my world burns,
I realise I have about two choices
I could leave you behind
Or I could go against my instincts
I could turn around and find you
Wherever you may be
I could put myself through chaos
I could find you through the hellfire
I’d wrap my arms around you
They fit so perfectly
I’d protect you from the world
That crumbled at our feet
I’d smell your hair one last time,
Before I hold my breath
And count the sheep above my head
My sight would leave me, I’d be dying
You’d tell me to stay strong
You’d tell me to keep going
Your motives are as clear as day
You only care about your own well-being
As our world burns around us
I could only focus my attention on you
The fire would engulf me
I’d turn to ash
You’d be untouched
Yet, you’d cry out
You’d look at me and see
I have nothing left to give
