They’re back! So sorry to those who were in the middle of reading. Pertaining to Deviant Prince, here’s what I changed and why:

In Morally Ambiguous by Veronica Lancet, Vlad murders his therapist as a child. In the prologue of Deviant Prince, young Simo does the same thing. That scene was originally inspired by my memory of reading Morally Ambiguous years ago. After revisiting that book, I saw how the original version of my scene was similar in its cadence of dialogue and action.

I’ve rewritten that scene to change its structure and pacing, while staying true to Simo’s established character, psychology, and childhood. Inspiration by definition implies shared elements, meaning that there will be overlaps at the conceptual level. You’ll still find that both Vlad and Simo committed acts of violence as children. Conceptual overlap is not only legally and ethically acceptable, but exceedingly common in works of fiction within similar genres. But execution matters, so thank you for allowing me to restructure. My goal is transparency + the ability to say I’ve seriously considered concerns of this caliber, even when raised by a single reader.

Dear author:

It has been a reading experience as immersive as it was intellectually stimulating.

✨️You have my sincerest recognition for your talent.✨️

It is evident that there is either profound research - or a very keen psychological sensitivity - behind the construction of your characters.

This isn't just a gripping story; it is an exercise in human exploration executed with superior literary skill.

Thank you for not underestimating the reader and for raising the standard of what we read here.

I eagerly look forward to your next work.
