I was thinking about what “seeing through somebody else’s eyes" or “walking in somebody else’s shoes” means. Does it mean that all my knowledge doesn't mean anything unless I go through something? The human experience is universal. Even if you don't speak the same language as somebody, you understand what the other person is going through. Does it mean that my support is less "real"? By thinking if you're hurt, a different person doesn't have to hurt them self in the same way so they can be there for you, right? But then again, everyone is different, so you never know what exactly someone else is feeling. But we can still be there for them.
