Hello, everyone!

It’s been a long and crazy month, but I do have exciting news. I am starting a writing challenge for the month of February: write 75% of my first draft. For me, that’s about 3500 words/day…which is a lot for someone who hasn’t established a writing routine. In other words, this month should be interesting.

As always, I preface this by saying this is a first draft. I do not have incredibly high expectations, however, I believe it is a good way to test out my material, writing style, genre, and characters to real people. This story is a but different than the one mentioned in my previous post. I am continuing on building my Fourth Wing inspired Adult Fantasy book.

I read Fourth Wing last July, and I was incredibly excited by the concept. However, the books fell a bit flat for me, and I felt like something was missing. So, I decided to start writing my own spice free, Christian-based book with mild inspiration from Fourth Wing. Meaning, the only things that are similar are the dragons, riders, and magic elements.

***This novel will follow the main protagonist, Constantine Everhart, who is struggling to keep what little family he has left afloat. Working odd jobs everyday while also making time to interact with his own family leaves him feeling burnt out and a bit resentful to the family members that abandoned Constantine, his father, and little twin sisters. Fortunately, one day Constantine will run into a Seeker, who sees his past and current struggles. This Seeker also knows Constantine will rise above the rest of his family. All the Seeker has to do is convince Constantine to help rebuild the once great Dragon Aviation Academy (name “To Be Determined”). Will Constantine be willing to take this leap of faith to save his family, or will he try running from his fate, potentially endangering his family?***

Hopefully, this small synopsis helps to explain a bit about what’s going on in this story. Sorry for the long post, but I hope you enjoyed.

Howdy, Howdy!

First off, Happy New Year everyone! I hope and pray y'all had (are having) a great holiday/Christmas season. While I might not have been able to get that first chapter by Christmas, I promise it is underdevelopment. I mismanaged my time before spending time with family and was unable to complete it by the deadline.

I can offer, however, a list of themes and tropes that are relevant to this story. Hopefully, y'all can see the vision that I see and stick this one out with me.
          - Adult Fantasy (protagonist is 26 years old)
-Inspirations from Ancient empires and more current kingdoms (Rome, Greece, Babylonia, Persia, Assyria, Abyssinia, etc.)
-Time period is equivalent to our 13th century AD (or CE) -- as far as architecture, medicine, and other elements are concerned
-Not a historical fiction/fantasy or retelling
-Romance is a subplot (not the main point of the story)
          -Political Intrigue
-Think Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider meets The Witcher with some Assassin's Creed elements as well
-Supernaturals (Werewolves, Vampyres, Phoenixes, Mermaids/Sirens, Witches, etc.)
-Strong Christian elements--as the religions are based off of Christianity--used to highlight different aspects as well as showcase the spread of oral traditions (telling stories)
-Clean (No spice, no open-door scenes)
-Some profanity (none in the modern sense, but made up words that carry the same meaning/context)

Hey, y’all!

At the rate I’m going, I might just have a story by the end of next year… In all seriousness, however, I’m working diligently to have the first chapter completed by the Christmas holiday. Life just happens to get in the way and throw curveballs, so to speak.

I can’t thank y’all enough for following me through this time, and I’m hoping and praying it will all pay off.

          Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

          Love,
          Yours Truly

Hey, it’s me again!

I’m sorry I haven’t been keeping up with this page lately. I’ve been have some health problems recently, and I hope to have some new works and updates works here shortly before the Thanksgiving holiday as I probably won’t be uploading during that week.

I’ll come back soon (hopefully) with a more detailed update as I just seem to have a lot of different projects in mind and hopefully something different from what’s popular right now.

I hope everyone has been having a great November so far, and if you’re in the US I hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving! Have a blessed day, y’all!

          Sincerely,
          Yours Truly

Hey, y'all!

It's been a quick minute since I've last updated my stories and profile. I have been busy working on some other WIPs since the last time I posted... (I know, so much inspiration). I do hope and pray that at least a couple of these stories will become popular amongst the masses, and I will be posting some character profiles on my Instagram (@alyssa_nicole_writes24) to give a sneak peek into a new Young Adult (YA) Paranormal-Mystery-Adventure and an Adult Fantasy-Action-Adventure (think Indiana Jones).

I will be trying to update the other stories posted on here as well, but Lord knows where those will be prioritized.

Thank you for the support, and I hope to have many more followers/readers in the coming weeks! Have a blessed evening! :)

          Sincerely,
          Yours Truly

Good afternoon, everyone!

Writer’s block is one of the worst experiences to have as a writer. For me, I have about a hundred different projects and ideas swirling through my mind, yet I’m completely paralyzed. Unable to write or outline any of them. This is my dramatic and poetic way of saying my current works in progress (WIP) are a struggle to say the least, but I am trying to put something out for you.

In the mean time, check out my anthology I am composing. It has a mixture of thoughts and themes circling around a central theme of society and its cons while still being able to see the beauty in the world (I hope that makes sense to you). Anyways, thank you for your support in my works.

Let’s become inspired and change the world for the better!

          Sincerely,
          Yours Truly

Two things:
          1. “The Mortal Who Defied the Odds” is still a WIP
          2. I have been sucked into the world of Dragon-Fantasy-Military-Dystopian(esque) Romance stories, which is also a WIP. (Thanks “Fourth Wing” for the inspiration)

I hope y’all are as excited about these as I am. I’ve been struggling with inspiration and just starting the stories. However, I know it’ll be worth it in the end.

          Love,
          Yours Truly

Hello, everyone!
I wanted to come on here to say that “The Mortal Who Defied the Odds” will be updated and rewritten this week! Which means it will become unpublished for the time being. I have finally found some time to update the story and decided to just start fresh and make it better than it once was.

I’m doing this because I want to take writing a bit more seriously and put more effort into my work. All I ask in return is patience on your part. Here’s to a new journey and challenge! :)

          Love,
          Yours Truly
