Trying to figure out why the only crosshair one shots I’ve written have been insanely long.  Like 7k+ words

Not me worried that my side character will be more loved than the MC of my new story

When you, in the span of like a day, get nearly an entire book plot in your head and several characters flushed out and multiple major scenes planned.  But. You’re in college and working full time.  And you procrastinate.  
          
          But really this story would be heart wrenching and really good.  If I ever write it

Normal people with their exes: *insert mortal enemy hatred and keying cars etc. etc.*
          Me and my ex: *still talking and supporting each other and being overall buddies*
          
          Can we please normalize kindness and splitting up before you get to the point where you can't stand each other?  I feel like dating culture is so toxic because people can't break up without hating each other's guts

It’s crazy to me that my one shots book has about the same amount of reads (6k) as the number of people in the town I live in

Does anyone have tips to help readers interact with me more?  I feel like I’m prompting enough with questions in the story etc. but I’ve only had a few comments on my fics.  Do y’all have suggestions that might help?
