Cas had been waiting. For hours, he was sure. Four months on the road— at least it was for a real person this time. He had made tea in the past few minutes, and he was sipping it, trying to calm frayed nerves, but when he heard sounds outside, he nearly tossed the mug out the window. No, he'd be calm about this. He sat in the armchair, the one Demaris preferred to reside in, with a smile that betrayed his excitement.

          “Hello.” :)

faeriebound

“.... Problem?”

faeriebound

The statement has laughter bubbling from Caspian's lips. He does not make an attempt to stifle it, wholly amused by this sudden revelation. Demaris is, most certainly, one of his favorites here— if not also the most frustrating. So entertaining. “Tomorrow,” he echoes, eyebrows quirked, questioning. “Will you.. remember?”

There was a silence, one he was playing off as mere annoyance as he pondered that thought. He could, yes. Summoning a meal would be easy. A bath– Well, he was sure he could do that, too, yes. These things were always so within reach for him (excluding times of punishment), he didn't really think about it. ،، Not tonight. Tired enough as it is. I'll... do it tomorrow. ”

“Mm. Unfortunate.” Cas seemed thoroughly unsympathetic to his plight. Amused, even, given that little smile. “Make it, then.”

His ego is used against him at the age of thirty-two, challenged by a warlock by the name of Caspian von Massoulle (@faeriebound) to show him power that he hasn't seen before. Without knowledge that the warlock had been around the fey for so long, he failed. And with that lost bet, he was to join his party.

A middle child with too much attention. His father's eyes were always on his progress, and he never failed to step in should be ever falter. Once, Demaris attended Blackstaff Academy, though a moment of disinterest and rebellion led to this being changed to homeschooling, and he'd find his father's methods far more forceful. There are plenty of scars hidden along his body from these years. While his mother was a safe haven, being the only one to offer him any comfort in his life, her interest in him could be... concerning, to say the least. While he has grown to be quite the talented sorcerer, with an ego to match, there is a coldness about him to match Cania. At least at surface level.

DEMARIS HAHPET. Tiefling Sorcerer from Waterdeep. Long ago, his family had made a deal with the archdevil Mephistopheles for wealth and power. Because of this, Demaris comes from a long line of not only sorcerers but nobility. Each generation is challenged to be just as powerful as the last, if not more. Of five children, Demaris showed the most promise in his abilities, earning his place as the heir to their fortune.
